Common Isues

Connecting to Mond Pin is designed to be a seamless and efficient experience, there are however certain issues that appear more often than other when we are contacted for support. This blog aims to help aid you in diagnosing and resolving issues you may experience out in the field.
Wrong details inputted:
A simple issue that occurs is typing in the wrong details when trying to connect to Mondo Pin. This occurs when typing in the wrong IP address, port number, username, password and mountpoint.
If your device is connected to the internet and can load mountpoints, a good way to check if the IP address and port number are correct is to try and load them. If no mountpoints load, that is a good indicator that something has been typed in wrong.
If an error occurs when connecting to a mountpoint, it may be as simple as having the wrong username and password. What can occur is users input their Mondo Pin account details rather than those created when creating a subscription.
If you are having issues remembering these details, don’t hesitate to contact us and we can help guide you through changing them on your device.
Exceeding the number of simultaneous users:
There are two main systems users can choose when allocating subscriptions to machines and devices.
1. The same username and password can be used with multiple subscriptions
2. Difference username and password for different individual subscriptions
If the first option is chosen, what can often occur is the amount of users trying to connect using a certain username and password, can exceed the number of connections allocated to that subscription.
For instance, if a subscription has 2 connections using the same username and password, and a third device tries to connect using the same details, their connection will fail.
There are two main options to resolve the issue. If your account has another subscription with a different username, a user can be switched to another subscription. If that isn’t the case, you can increase the number of connection for that subscription to allow additional devices to be connected.
No internet connection:
For a connection to Mondo Pin to be established, a reliable internet connection is required from the device that is going to be receiving the correction, whether it’s being used for an excavator, or general GNSS use.
Many machines will have the option to fill or load mountpoints from Mondo Pin if the IP address/URL and port number, are inputted correctly. If the mountpoints don’t load, that is a common indicator that there is no internet connection currently on your device.
Some devices use permanently inserted sim cards, so turning it off and on again or using a phone hotspot can also resolve the issue.
